Pitbull, known as Mr. 305, is a rapper from Miami, Florida. He was influenced by the Miami bass genre of hip hop music and began rapping in high school.

After experimentation with several mixtapes and recording his own rap music, it wasn’t long before Pitbull was featured on Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz’ album Kings of Crunk in 2002.

Pitbull’s song “Oye” was featured on the soundtrack to the film 2 Fast 2 Furious the following year. In 2004, Pitbull released his debut album M.I.A.M.I., with the lead single being “Culo” produced by Lil Jon and the Diaz Brothers. It peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #11 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart. Other singles included “Dammit Man,” “Back Up,” “Toma,” and “That’s Nasty.” In 2005, he joined the Anger Management Tour with artists Eminem and 50 Cent.

Over the years since he burst onto the music scene, Pitbull has collaborated with Pretty Ricky, the Ying Yang Twins, and Twista. Pitbull’s second album, El Mariel, was released on October 31, 2006, and included singles “Bojangles,” “Ay Chico (Lengua Afuera),” “Fuego,” and “Dime (Remix)”. El Mariel topped the Billboard independent albums chart and peaked at #17 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the rap chart. Pitbull’s third album, The Boatlift, was also successful featuring Trina and Lil John and made its way to Billboard Charts and Hot Rap Tracks. Pitbull’s major label debut, Rebelution (Polo Grounds Music/J/RCA Music Group), debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and No. 10 on the digital album chart, making it Pitbull’s highest U.S. debut to date. Recently in 2009, Pitbull won the first ever “Latin Digital Download Artist of the Year” award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Singles from the album have dominated the charts, with “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 3 at Rhythmic and achieving sales of more than 1.6 million digital singles.

Rebelution was released through Pitbull’s Mr. 305 imprint via Polo Grounds Music/J/RCA Music Group. It boasts production from beatmakers Play N Skillz, Doctor Luke, Clinton Sparks and Grammy Award winning Jim Jonsin, plus guest appearances by Akon, B.O.B, Lil Jon and Slim of 112. The album showcases Pitbull’s undeniable lyrical skills and stakes his claim as one of the game’s best emcees. In 2009, national television audiences were first introduced to the Pitbull “rebelution” when he performed “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and “Hotel Room Service” on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and The Wendy Williams Show.

More recently, the artist made unforgettable appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the MTV Video Music Awards. Pitbull kicked-off his worldwide Rebelution Tour at Harrah’s Casino in Valley Center, California on September 19, 2009. He is currently on tour throughout the US and Latin America.
